Regulation 28 of the Pension Funds Act was updated by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority in January 2022 to formally recognise infrastructure as a permitted investment category. Regulation 28 now allows retirement funds to invest up to 45% of their funds in infrastructure when combined with other unlisted assets such as private equity and hedge funds.
